Name : Ian McCarthy
Subject: Obituary - Dennis McCarthy

Message: I had a call earlier this week from Ian McCarthy (at Motorcast from 1985 to April 2005), sadly advising that his Dad, Dennis, died on 12 July.

A Requiem Mass for Dennis will be celebrated at St Peter's RC Church, Belle Isle, Leeds LS10 3TR, next Tuesday, 20 July at 11 00am.

Whilst younger 'Afterlives' readers will not have had known Dennis (for he retired some years ago), I'm sure that 'oldies' (like me) will have fond memories of him.

If memory seves (I don't have records to hand), Dennis joined West Yorkshire Foundries around 1954. In 1960, when I first met him, he was a Chargehandnbsp;in what then was known as Aluminium Inspection. I recall that sooen afterwards he became Inspection Foreman and in the early 1970's, was appointed as Quality Manager at WYF's foundry in Keighley returning to WYF, Leeds in a similar position by the 1980's

I'm confident that all who had the pleasure of working with Dennis, nbsp;will have happy memories of his kind and helpful disposition and most of all, his cheerfulnes and sense of humour and trust that you will are join me in offering our deepest synpathies to his widow, Jean, sons, Ian and Kevin and daughter Mandy and all his family.

Kind regards to all
