I had the pleasure of working with Jerry for over 15 years. He was as
others have said a true gentleman, very placid in nature, an apparent
contradiction with his accomplishments as a Tae-Kwon-Do instructor. He was an
extremely able and conscientious engineer and was at the centre of the rapid
expansion of aluminium production in the 80s and 90s. His contribution to the
building of the Cross Green Foundry was immense, and it is regrettable that what
was one of the most advanced foundries in Europe no longer stands as a tribute
to him. My condolences to Martin and his family. I hope to be present at his
funeral next week to pay my respects.
