Phoenix by Alison
Butler
Open unsullied meadows, changeable water
flow,
These you would have seen here a hundred years ago.
Then an industrial animal made here its lair,
Exhaling with a fiery breath sparks into the air.
All things have their place in time, this phoenix
life almost done,
Land in transition rebirth yet to come.
